Sustainability and ESG at D’Andrea
For D’Andrea, sustainability is not an abstract concept nor a response to regulatory requirements. It is a guiding principle that has been part of the company since its foundation and continues to shape the way it operates today.
Technology, people and territory are inseparable dimensions of a vision aimed at creating long-term, shared and responsible value.
Founded in 1951 by Marino D’Andrea, the company has grown by maintaining a strong connection between industrial innovation and attention to social and environmental impact, in the belief that technological progress only has meaning when it contributes to the well-being of people and communities.
The three ESG pillars
Environment
Reducing impact, designing to last
D’Andrea operates in the precision engineering sector with an approach focused on process efficiency, responsible resource management and the reduction of environmental impact.
In this sector, the quality and accuracy of machining processes contribute concretely to industrial sustainability goals: high precision enables the optimization of raw material use, the reduction of waste and rework, and the improvement of overall production efficiency.
The company promotes energy-efficient solutions, the use of renewable energy sources and more efficient packaging, with reduced use of plastic. The design of high-precision and long-lasting products contributes to a more sustainable industrial model.
Social
People, territories and shared responsibility
For D’Andrea, the social pillar is expressed through attention to people and commitment to the communities and territories in which it operates. Within the organization, the working environment is based on stability, respect, safety, training and dialogue.
At the same time, for over forty years D’Andrea has promoted social impact initiatives in Italy and abroad, focusing on local development, inclusion, education and people’s well-being, transforming corporate responsibility into tangible value for communities.
Governance
Responsibility and long-term vision
D’Andrea is a family-owned company now in its third generation, guided by a governance model based on continuity, integrity and a long-term vision.
The company operates in compliance with regulations and promotes ethical and transparent behavior in all relationships with stakeholders, continuously strengthening its control and compliance systems.
Commitment to communities
Local development and territories
The connection with the territory is a key element of D’Andrea’s identity. In Molise, the family’s region of origin, the company has promoted over time entrepreneurial initiatives aimed at economic and social regeneration, with the goal of creating employment, services and new long-term development opportunities for local communities.

Melise – Sustainable agriculture

“Melise” is an organic agriculture project created to restore abandoned land and generate new employment opportunities, while respecting the environment and local resources.
The initiative integrates environmental sustainability, economic development and social cohesion, contributing to land recovery and the preservation of local biodiversity.
Borgo Tufi – Regeneration and sustainable tourism

Alongside agricultural and production initiatives, D’Andrea has also supported projects focused on the enhancement of local historical and cultural heritage.
“Borgo Tufi” is a model of a “scattered hotel” developed through the restoration of historic buildings, promoting sustainable tourism, economic vitality and renewed attractiveness for the area.

Care for the elderly – Dignity and inclusion

Through the “San Nicola” residential care facility in Castel del Giudice and the “Santa Maria di Loreto” care home in Capracotta, D’Andrea contributes to meeting the care needs of elderly people and individuals with disabilities.
These initiatives aim to ensure quality of life, dignity and social inclusion, with constant attention to the most vulnerable and to the value of human relationships.
“La Nostra Casa” project – Inclusion and autonomy

In Lombardy, D’Andrea supports initiatives dedicated to people with disabilities and their families. The “La Nostra Casa” project, promoted by the association “LA-Fra”, is designed to guide young people and adults with disabilities towards greater autonomy through gradual and supported pathways, within a protected yet fully integrated community environment.
The project includes shared living spaces, workshops and areas for interaction, aimed at developing daily life skills, personal independence and social participation.

Education and opportunities

Education has always been considered by D’Andrea a fundamental driver of growth and development. Since the late 1980s, the company has supported educational initiatives in disadvantaged contexts, starting with a significant commitment in Guinea-Bissau, where it contributed to the construction of thirteen schools and related educational infrastructure.
Over time, these initiatives have evolved into self-sustaining projects, achieving full organizational and operational autonomy and reflecting an approach to social engagement focused not on dependency, but on the long-term development of communities.
D’Andrea also promotes initiatives aimed at fostering scientific knowledge and technical education for younger generations. The collaboration with the Astronomical Observatory of Tradate has developed through support for the creation of the Eco-Planetarium and the enhancement of scientific facilities, encouraging public interest—especially among young people—in scientific disciplines.
In parallel, the company partners with the Politecnico di Milano on high-tech educational projects and with local secondary schools for orientation programs, work-based learning experiences and company visits, with the aim of providing a clear and informed understanding of the industrial world.

A path towards the future
For D’Andrea, sustainability is not a destination, but a continuous journey of improvement: a path that combines technological precision, social responsibility and environmental care, based on the belief that doing business means creating long-term value for people and territories.
In this direction, the company has voluntarily chosen to embark on a sustainability reporting journey, anticipating an approach that is becoming increasingly relevant for businesses and reinforcing its commitment to transparency and accountability.
