U-COMAX heads are designed for transfer machines and special-purpose units. Slide movement is driven by the U-DRIVE system, mounted behind the machine spindle and controlled by the U-axis of the numerical control. The head is connected through a drive shaft passing through the unit.
Available in various configurations to suit specific applications, the system enables complex machining operations such as internal and external turning, grooving, variable taper boring, concave and convex radiusing, cylindrical and tapered threading, phonographic spirals, and spherical machining.
